I’m Zanna Schumacher, the Editor in Chief and Co-Founder of Green House of Fashion, a personal style blog that focuses on ethical fashion. I started in fashion as a blogger, attending fashion week, reporting on the trends and such, but I just felt empty and a bit guilty indulging in the superficial world of fashion. Of course, I love the art and drama of fashion design and appreciate it greatly, but I began researching and learning more about ethical fashion and designers who work with fair trade principals, organic and sustainable materials and care about their environmental impact and I was hooked. So, Green House of Fashion was born in January of 2011 and I’ve been blogging ever since!

My blog’s mission is pretty simple though fulfilling it isn’t always easy! I want to show women like me that you can be ethical in your fashion choices, but not compromise your personal style for it. There are so many ways to shop responsibly and you don’t have to be sucked into convenience shopping at massive, wasteful stores if you don’t want to. I’m a huge advocate of vintage and thrift shopping. In fact, it’s my primary method of snagging amazing clothing in a sustainable and affordable way. Of course, there are amazing ethical designers and websites to visit as well and you can find all of that kind of thing on my blog.

I love being inspired by art (I’ll often take a painting on my blog and base an outfit around it), I love the creativity that comes with designers upcycling materials and making something fashionable. There are so many amazing elements of eco-fashion and I hope to provide a cool place to check them all out at Green House of Fashion.
